Do you have historical Louisiana newspapers?

Most Louisiana newspapers are housed in the Louisiana Room and are available on microfilm. The exceptions are the Advocate (Baton Rouge) and the Times-Picayune (New Orleans), which are housed in Microforms on the first floor of the library. Holdings of all titles can be identified through the Dupré Library Catalog or the Louisiana Newspaper Holdings Index.

Some Louisiana newspapers are also available online. One helpful resource is Chronicling America. Other online resources can be found under Microforms.

Contact the Louisiana Room at (337) 482-6031 or speccoll@louisiana.edu for the most current holdings information.
